I recently attended the Informatica MDM Day in New York. And the message was clear – Data Governance is a journey, a never-ending one. It is not too late to start thinking about mastering your data and making it work for you instead of you working for it.

Data Governance can be overwhelming and there’s a lot to consider. So, the experts suggest to start small, taking one step at a time and continually evaluate the process with the changing data and business needs. While Data Governance can be complex it doesn’t have to be an impossible task. And Informatica’s MDM product makes it just that easy to accomplish.

Here are five reasons why you should consider taking control over your Salesforce data and use Informatica Cloud MDM as your go-to tool.

1. Eliminate and prevent duplicate and inconsistent data

Informatica Cloud MDM can be used to detect duplicate records for existing Accounts, Leads, Contacts, and other standard and custom objects. The product can also be used at the point-of-entry for on-going duplicate prevention.

2. Cleanse, standardize, and enrich customer information

Existing as well newly added data in your Salesforce org can be hard to standardize or enforce with consistent business rules across the organization. Cloud MDM allows you to enrich your existing Salesforce data using external data sources such as Dun & Bradstreet and Data.com.

3. Integrate and consolidate data from multiple systems

In addition to storing data into Salesforce, you may be using other systems (including other Salesforce orgs) to maintain related information about the same record. You can leverage Cloud MDM to consolidate data from these different systems to create one Master or “Golden” record in Salesforce. Cloud MDM also allows field-level prioritization for each source by letting you pick a source system field-by-field basis.

4. Manage and view account hierarchies

Informatica’s Cloud MDM allows Salesforce admins to manage and display a consolidated view of customer hierarchies within Salesforce. This enables users to have a single view of customer relationships and to be able to interact with these hierarchies without having to leave the record.

5. Ease of use

Informatica’s Cloud MDM is a managed package from AppExchange. It has wizard-based set up to help newbies quickly start on configuring their Salesforce orgs as well provides the ability to manually apply the settings for the tech-savvies. Plus it is an Aloha app which means that its tabs, objects, apps, etc. will not count against limits within your Salesforce org.
