Everything you need to know about Salesforce Commerce Cloud

One of the two big announcements at Dreamforce ‘16 was Salesforce’s new digital commerce platform, Commerce Cloud. It’s a reinvented way to grow sales, providing predictive commerce with Salesforce Einstein across any touch point on one unified platform. Connect with customers across their preferred channel whether it’s social, mobile, physical, or digital.

Salesforce was really selling the unified Platform at Dreamforce; it’s all about the customer journey, delivering 1-to-1 shopper experiences wherever your products are sold and enriching the customer profile with deep behavioral and transactional data. At Silverline, we’re excited to extend the power of commerce cloud to help our clients innovate faster, convert new customers, and close more sales.

Salesforce Commerce Cloud is also among the first commerce solutions to support Apple Pay for mobile web, allowing Commerce Cloud customers to offer shoppers the ability to easily make secure and private payments in Safari on iPhone, iPad and on the Mac. Merchants can quickly take advantage of Apple Pay’s benefits with the option of enabling the feature through a quick and simple configuration.

During the keynote, the feature that I was most interested in was the new predictive sort and how Commerce Cloud offers personalized search and sort based on individual behavior, maximizing relevance for each shopper. For example, if two shoppers visit the same online store, one searches for jackets and the other shorts (neither is logged and it’s the first visit to this store for both), then they both search for dresses next, the first shopper sees long sleeve warmer dresses at the top of the pages while the other sees sleeveless dresses first. They both have access to the full inventory, but thanks to Einstein each receives a tailored shopping experience based on their preferences. Seeing the demo in action was so cool, even though this feature won’t be  generally available until early 2017.

Salesforce is really changing the way shoppers interact with retailers by providing a single view of the customer, and a single view of inventory, to take their customer on a 1-to-1 personalized buying journey with Commerce Cloud.

Commerce Cloud is generally available and Commerce Cloud Einstein’s Product recommendations are generally available and included as part of a Commerce Cloud license. Contact us for more information on Commerce Cloud!
