This week in Salesforce, we saw a lot of cool things posted in the development community (including this hilarious image of the Dos Equis guy a friend sent our way) as well as a great food-for-thought article from Peter Coffee about the future of innovation in the cloud. Check out the links below and have a fantastic weekend!
++ Summer ’11 Release Notes are now available!
++ Salesforce is calling for developers to submit their ideas for Dreamforce sessions. Hop to it!
++ Developer Kevin Swiggum posted more details about his CloudSpokes contest-winning mashup of Salesforce and the Google org chart. Super cool, and makes me want to sign up for challenges too! Can’t wait to see what else everyone comes up with!
++ This week in San Francisco, Salesforce revealed - along with other Bay Area tech firms Yelp, Twitter, and Zynga – that Mayor Edwin Lee invited them to join a technology advisory council which will study emerging technology companies and advise on how to attract them to and keep them in the city. When do we get one of these in NYC?!
++ In other must-read news, check out this inspiring CloudBlog post from Peter Coffee challenging us to defy conventional IT models in favor of innovation. His last line bears repeating: “I urge you to join me in making the cloud so commonplace that we stop thinking it’s disruptive – but rather, see its enormous advantages as more than worth the changes they entail.” Awesome.
++ And just for fun: check out this sweet music interface. So cool.
