Job Title: Marketing Intern
Start Date:
 August 2018

What is a fun fact or something interesting about yourself?

I go to the Fashion Institute of Technology and I’m graduating in May with a degree in International Trade and Marketing! I’m also vegan and want to note that the office caters to vegans tremendously!

What is your position at Silverline?

I’m the marketing intern! I would say it’s the all-hands on deck type of position. I work closely with everyone on the marketing team and am able to help support them with projects.

What does your average day look like?

My average day is catching up on messages and emails in the morning. Since I’m only part-time it can get backed up. I then work on the A Day in the Life blog and putting together the Silverline Insider, which is a monthly internal newsletter. I usually have some type of data work to do in my downtime as well. Lastly, I help wherever is needed!

How did you find out about Silverline and your current position?

I found out about the position on LinkedIn. I read the job description and it matched everything I was looking for in an internship. I then did some research on Silverline and saw all of the reviews on Glassdoor and it looked like a great place to work.

What motivates you at work?

I like being able to see the end result on the projects I work on. Even if it’s a small comment about how someone enjoyed the newsletter, it makes me feel good. I think the corporate culture is very inclusive and it makes me want to work harder!

What are some interesting challenges you face?

Being in marketing it can be difficult to always have a whole view of how everything works. There is a lot of intertwining pieces from events to campaigns to content. I like being able to see how my work can help the company along with the marketing team.

What new things have you learned since you began working at Silverline?

I have learned so much about Salesforce and all the different capabilities it has. Still going to school gives me a different perspective and I like being able to learn and see how this company functions.

What do you think makes Silverline successful?

Being encouraged to learn and grow! I wanted to learn more about Salesforce when I got here and my boss and team were nothing but supportive of me working in Salesforce’s Trailhead and going to classes to learn more. That being said, I’m still learning and I think that’s what makes Silverline so successful because there is a continuous learning movement and you never stay stagnant.

What is your favorite perk?

Definitely all the free food in the office and the ability to work remotely. I think it’s awesome that there is a level of trust at the company that no matter where you are you are able to get your work done.

What is your favorite memory from working at Silverline?

My first day! I came to the office in a dress and heels because I didn’t know what to wear and one of my coworkers opened the door and didn’t have shoes on and was dressed super casual. My heart dropped because all I could think about was how I overdressed and made a big mistake for my outfit choice. I then met everyone and they made me feel so welcomed I didn’t even think twice about what I was wearing after that.

What do you hope for your future at Silverline?

I recently accepted a full-time Corporate Marketing Associate role at Silverline! I can’t wait to start working full time and transition into this new role once I graduate!

What advice would you give someone considering a job at Silverline?

Make sure to do your research! Being prepared for your interview is the key to getting the job. Even for the intern application process, there were detailed interviews.
