Job Title: VP of Financial Services Go To Market
Start Date: July 2017
What is a fun fact or something interesting about yourself?
I love to scuba dive! There is nothing like the feeling of being weightless underwater and seeing all the wondrous life from little nudibranchs to big sharks and stingrays, it’s amazing.
What is your position at Silverline?
I’m the VP of Financial Services Go To Market, I’m responsible for uncovering opportunities & pipeline and supporting our Account Executives during sales cycles. I also lead a team responsible for our thought leadership and solution approach across each of our Financial Services sub-industries.
What does your average day look like?
My days vary a lot, I would say I spend most of my time engaging with our amazing clients and prospective clients sharing how Silverline has helped other similar clients transform their business using the Salesforce platform. Another major focus is sharing those same stories with Salesforce and our partners so they know how to position Silverline as a top implementation partner. My other major focus is to speak and write about major Financial Services industry trends and how Silverline can address and bring solutions to the challenges in the market.
How did you find out about Silverline and your current position?
I spent 15 years in the Financial Services industry prior to becoming a consultant. When I decided to make a move to consulting in the Salesforce ecosystem, I reached out to a number of friends who were in the industry and so many of them spoke highly about Silverline. The timing wasn’t right at that point for me to join. However, a few years later Silverline’s Professional Services organization was going through reorganization and I joined as the Leader of Financial Services Delivery. I moved into my current position this past January.
What motivates you at work?
I really enjoy engaging with clients and prospective clients. I like talking about how we can help them with their most important business problems. For example, I was talking with one client recently who needed our help transforming from a primarily in-branch experience to a hybrid in-branch & digital experience. During the conversation, they shared that this initiative was so critical to the organization that they didn’t think they would be around in five years if they didn’t figure out the right solution. When I think about that organization’s customers, employees, and other stakeholders it reminds me of the impact we have every day.
What are some interesting challenges you face?
My travel schedule! To be effective in my role, I spend a lot of time on a plane. I love all the time I spend with clients and partners, but keeping all the logistics together can be rough!
What new things have you learned since you began working at Silverline?
I learn new things every day, but probably the biggest lesson I would take away is the importance of making sure that everyone is included in decision-making. Sometimes it’s easy to make a quick decision, but it’s more impactful when everyone has a voice.
What do you think makes Silverline successful?
It’s the high quality of our people! Every day I see our employees going above and beyond in their roles. Doing great things for clients, partners, and other team members. We see external recognition through Glassdoor, but it truly is why we are successful. We aren’t a product company, we are selling the quality of people.
What is your favorite perk?
The New York office is amazing and very collaborative. There are so many places to work together. Not to mention the free beer you can grab. It’s awesome to see how much space we dedicate to help build a community. Since our company is mostly remote, Silverline is trying to incorporate more offices in different parts of the country as well.
What is your favorite memory from working at Silverline?
One thing I love to do is attend client go-live celebrations. I have had the pleasure of attending quite a few, but one, in particular, stands out as the organization assembled everyone involved in the project together for a champagne toast — must have been 150 or more in the room. Being able to see all the people it took to make the project successful and talk with them about how it makes a real impact on their work life was fantastic.
What do you hope for your future at Silverline?
I really hope that I can continue to help the organization achieve its goals. I’m a Financial Services guy so that’s where my focus is but I’m excited for the vision of Silverline and seeing how we can grow and solidify our position as a leader in the Salesforce ecosystem. Supporting and contributing to that vision is what I’m most excited about.
What advice would you give someone considering a job at Silverline?
Run, don’t walk, and apply now! There is so much opportunity if you are in the Salesforce ecosystem. If you like interesting challenges, engaging with clients, and helping them solve their most important business problems then join our team!
