Job Title: Partner Alliance Manager, Healthcare and Life Sciences
Start Date:
April 2019

What is a fun fact or something interesting about yourself?

I have an innate sense of smell. I love the smell of cleaning products and as weird as this is…bleach! I blame my mother for my love of cleaning and getting geared up to slip on my rubber gloves and go to town. Interesting, but unrelated…I can touch my tongue to my nose!

What is your position at Silverline?

I’m a Partner Alliance Manager for Healthcare and Life Sciences. The description of my job depends really on who I’m talking to when described. If it’s someone who doesn’t know a lot about the world that is Salesforce, I would say I’m the liaison between Salesforce and Silverline as it relates to our Healthcare business. I also manage the relationships with Healthcare product vendors that plug into Salesforce. I ensure our business as it pertains to these channels is aligned and running smoothly.

What does your average day look like?

I’m sure like most people at Silverline it varies day to day. My eyes and ears have to touch many aspects of our business, which keeps it exciting and new every day. Sometimes my day is spent communicating about upcoming initiatives, pipeline reviews, or strategic account planning with our healthcare team. Other days, I could be participating in a prospecting event with an ISV (Independent Software Vendor) partner, or attending a Salesforce event or enablement.

How did you find out about Silverline and your current position?

I’ve been working in the Salesforce ecosystem for about four years and pretty early on I became familiar with Silverline. The Silverline reputation for deep Healthcare expertise was well-known and fit well with my previous experience. I was really interested in moving to NYC and working with an innovative Salesforce partner so Silverline was a no brainer.

What motivates you at work?

A lot of things here at Silverline motivate me! The ability to support multiple initiatives across many teams in our organization is really rewarding for me. I enjoy watching the success of the channels I manage flourish after some foundational partnership T.L.C. At the end of the day, we’re all here to make our client’s lives easier. We partner with some really amazing organizations to make that a reality.

What are some interesting challenges you face?

I have my hands in a lot of different aspects of our organization as well as Salesforce and our partnerships. It can be tough and ever-evolving to keep up and ensure I have the latest and greatest from all the channels I manage.

What new things have you learned since you began working at Silverline?

I’ve learned a lot in the six months I have been here. I’ve been able to see how a professional services organization successfully runs on pre-sales initiatives and the real strength behind our numbers. In doing so, I have been able to hone in on my partnership skills even further, which has been really exciting for me. The collaboration we have here at Silverline between marketing, sales, delivery, and all teams in between has given me the ability to adapt to the organization seamlessly.

What do you think makes Silverline successful?

Our people, many of whom have years of industry expertise and the hunger to want more for our clients and learn more in doing so for themselves. As a professional services organization, it really takes a certain type of grit to be in this line of work and successfully keep the needle moving forward.

What is your favorite perk?

I enjoy the unlimited PTO, not because I take a lot of it, but because I don’t have to track or worry about the hours I do take.

What is your favorite memory from working at Silverline?

Within the first month that I started, I attended the summit in Santa Fe and knew maybe a handful of people. At the summit, I had the opportunity to put faces to names and meet hundreds of others that make up Silverline.A Day in the Life: Katy Engebretson

What do you hope for your future at Silverline?

I look forward to contributing to all of the growth targets we have set for ourselves, and continuing to grow personally within my role. In terms of alliances, the role is ever evolving and continues to support multiple aspects of the organization at any given time.

What advice would you give someone considering a job at Silverline?

Do it, dive in headfirst, and make sure you are prepared to showcase your best assets. Individuality is celebrated here, embrace who you are and you’ll fit in perfectly.
