A Day in the Life: Rob Inman

A Day in the Life

Job Title: Marketing Automation Solution Architect
Start Date:  June 4, 2018
Fun Fact:  I’m really into drone racing and aerial photography.

What is your position at Silverline and what do you do?

I’m a Solution Architect and client-facing consultant. I work in Salesforce Marketing Cloud, where I help clients strategize their marketing campaigns, implement Marketing Cloud, help with email delivery, and build customer journeys.

What does your average day look like?

I’m remote so my average day starts with a 30-second commute from my living room to my office. I do a mix of client-facing calls and heads down work writing code and working in the Marketing Cloud.

How did you find out about Silverline and your current position?

I was referred by Denyel Renevillia, a former colleague of mine. We both left our old company about a year and a half ago. She went on to Silverline and said I would fit in here really well.

What motivates you at work?

Interesting projects—nothing makes my brain itch more than a novel challenge.

What do you like most about your work?

I like that there are so much variety and no “typical” day. Each day is filled with a different challenge. The Salesforce ecosystem is so big there is a lot you can do with it.

What are some challenges you face?

Handling multiple projects with all my clients. Clients dream big, and I like being able to help fit the technology to their needs.

What new things have you learned since you began working at Silverline?

The biggest thing I have learned is handling client expectations. I would have considered myself timid in the past, and now this client-facing role has forced me to be more assertive.

What do you think makes Silverline a successful company?

Silverline is ambitious and I don’t think Silverline rests on its laurels. They want to continue to grow no matter what past success we’ve achieved.

What is your favorite perk?

I like working remotely, but the beer that’s in the office is a huge perk when I travel there.

What is your favorite memory?

My favorite memory is when we were kicking off a project in New York. It was my first time meeting everyone on the delivery team and we had so much fun together but were extremely productive.

What do you hope for your future at Silverline?

I hope to keep learning, I’m very niche in the Salesforce ecosystem, so I want to be able to know more about it.

If you had a friend who was thinking about working for Silverline, what advice would you give them?

I have a few friends and former colleagues that I have recommended. I would say to them that Silverline is small but growing and because of that the company is very unique. You won’t get lost in the crowd. It is expected that you make an impact and you have to be reliable and willing to challenge yourself and others to make sure our clients succeed.
