Job Title: Learning and Development Director
Start Date: January 2016
Fun Fact: I rode in a parade one year during Mardi Gras in New Orleans. So many beads, so much fun!

What is your position at Silverline and what do you do?

As the Learning & Development Director at Silverline, I oversee all internal education, training, skills building, career path development, new hire orientation, and more!

What does your average day look like?

My average day starts with a large glass of cold brew coffee that we have on tap at the office and then I check my to-do list and emails. The rest of my day is a blend of a few different activities. I’ll have meetings with people in various departments (e.g. Sales, Delivery) to work on their department-specific L&D plans and help implement them. I also plan and schedule learning sessions, as well as update and maintain all of the content in our Learning Management System.

How did you find out about Silverline and your current position?

I found my current position on LinkedIn. The job description was right up my alley. However, I didn’t know anything about Silverline. After doing some research and reading the stellar reviews on Glassdoor, I applied right away.

What motivates you at work?

The people I work with and their appetite for learning is what really motivates me every day. Silverline is truly a learning organization and everyone—from our CEO to our newest hire—has learning as a top priority.

What do you like most about your work?

I love the variety of programs I get to develop, and working with every single team in the company. I really get to understand the needs of individuals and departments, and ultimately help move the company forward.

What are some challenges you face?

My team and I have a lot of great programs and we want to do it all! However, we’re a small team so we rely on our colleagues to jump in and help out so that we are able to offer best in class learning programs to everyone.

What new things have you learned since you began working at Silverline?

In my previous jobs, I didn’t work with Salesforce technology or with sales teams, so I’ve learned a lot about both since starting.

What do you think makes Silverline a successful company?

Silverline invests in their people by providing many personal and professional learning and development opportunities.

What is your favorite perk?

We have a TON of perks, but I would say the flexible work environment is great. I can work from anywhere, which is fantastic.

What is your favorite memory?

My favorite memory is from our annual Summit in 2016. I had only been working at Silverline for about a month when the whole company flew to Florida for three days to bond. Everyone was so welcoming and it was a great introduction to Silverline.

What do you hope for your future at Silverline?

I hope to continue to grow and expand our learning opportunities. We’re growing fast, and I want to continue to provide best in class learning for everyone here.

If you had a friend who was thinking about working for Silverline, what advice would you give them?

Silverline is an amazing place to work! My advice is to reach out, even if you don’t see a job opening that seems like a perfect fit. Our Talent Acquisition team is always willing to get to know different people, understand their skills, and keep them in mind for when there is an open opportunity
