Whether you’ve already decided to attend Dreamforce 2014 or you’re still on the fence (perhaps this discount code can sway you?), the thought of attending an event this size can be intimidating. Luckily, our team is sharing tips for the ultimate Dreamforce experience!
This expertise comes from some of Silverline’s most seasoned Dreamforce attendees:
  • Gireesh Sonnad – Partner at Silverline; 5 time attendee
  • Kai Yu Hsiung – Chief Revenue Officer; 5 time attendee
  • Jill Harrison – Practice Director; 8 time attendee
  • Nicole Widder – Principal Consultant; 8 time attendee
1. Wear Comfy Shoes

Have you seen the size of Moscone Center? It’s huge! You’ll be walking around from sessions to workshops to keynote speakers and do not want sore feet getting in your way! For all of the partiers going out after Dreamforce, Gireesh warns that taxis are rare in San Francisco and Uber is pricey. Your feet will be your best form of transportation during your stay in San Francisco, so dress accordingly.

2. Find a Dreamforce Buddy

As a 5 year Dreamforce veteran, Gireesh has found it beneficial to experience the conference with a “buddy.” You’ll get more out of the conference by sharing thoughts and ideas with another person rather than listening and walking around alone. Try to set up multiple buddies over the four days so that you can hear different perspectives.

3. Plan Ahead
Read the Dreamforce session list front to back. Sometimes, session hosted by vendors are simply sales pitches. Check out the vendor’s website beforehand to help determine if you’ll find the session valuable.
Figure out which booth vendors you want to see before you arrive at the conference. Setting up a solid schedule will help you navigate the booth area and avoid missing keynote speakers. Planning ahead pertains to networking as well. Make appointments with vendors you wish to meet, ensuring the best use of your time.

4. Do Not Be Shy!

The opportunities for networking during Dreamforce are endless! Make sure to put yourself out there. Attend Tweet-ups where you can mingle and meet people who previously, you only interacted with via Twitter. For the ladies, attending the Girly Geeks group is a must. Remember that Dreamforce is not a 8am-5pm event and some of the best networking is accomplished after the exhibit hall closes.

5. Relax and Enjoy Dreamforce
With so many workshops, sessions and parties to attend during Dreamforce, people often forget to sit back and truly appreciate the amazing atmosphere. It is easy to become overwhelmed and attempt to conquer everything that Dreamforce has to offer, but make sure to enjoy whatever it is that you are currently doing and not worry about “what’s next.”
