Reading time: 2 minutes

On Thursday, May 2, 2019, the NYC MuleSoft Meetup Group gathered at the Salesforce Tower to discuss MuleSoft and its role in innovation for Healthcare and Life Sciences. This Meetup was the first of a planned series of sessions focused on these industries.

Attendees mixed and mingled before the meeting started, bonding over beer, wine, and food.

The Meetup broke down into three parts:

  1. Praveen Murugan, from Healthfirst, walked attendees through how they use MuleSoft with CI/CD (continuous integration, continuous delivery), which led to the successful surfacing of 300+ attributes in Salesforce, maintaining a load time of under three seconds, and taking advantage of Cloudhub.
  2. MuleSoft’s own Scott Stephan followed up with an overview on how MuleSoft helps lead digital transformation across healthcare. He also gave a sneak peak of an announcement coming up at Connections in Atlanta that will improve the developer journey, and wrapped it up with how domain-driven design can be applied to HLS.
  3. To close out the evening, NYC Meetup Co-Leader Suyog Gandhi led a MuleSoft Discussion Panel. Questions centered around how to promote innovation within, how to drive large legacy companies, and the future potential of Alexa and voice assistance for getting personalized and relevant care.
