I have Dreamforce FOMO, do you?

By Kathleen Ferrie 09.25.18

It’s Dreamforce again — four days of inspiration, giving back, and having the time of your life with fellow Trailblazers. Only this year, I’m not going — and I have major FOMO! To make myself feel better about not being there, I’ve put together 4 ways to avoid Dreamforce FOMO (Fear Of Missing Out) as much as possible.

Watch Salesforce Live

Salesforce LIVE is a free broadcast that airs Dreamforce keynotes and major breakout sessions as they happen so you can get in on the action. Be sure to watch the main keynote on Tuesday, September 25th at 3pm PST with Salesforce CEO Marc Benioff and friends. I’ve heard this keynote will have a strong focus on giving back and our friends from PepUp Tech will be there too. Which brings me to my next point…

Find a Way to Give Back

Every year, I’m so inspired by how much good Dreamforce brings into the world. This year, there is a focus to help end homelessness in the local Bay Area and a goal to raise 1million dollars during the event. I’ll be sure to keep an eye out for the text alerts so I can donate remotely. Other significant events taking place at Dreamforce include a kids coding zone with hands-on STEM learning, a philanthropy cloud keynote (I’m hoping to catch on Salesforce Live), and future executive summit.

Social Media

As always, Dreamforce is on LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram so you can keep up-to-date on your mobile in daily social posts. The marketing team at Silverline will be live tweeting the event so be sure to follow @silverlinecrm, @dreamforce, and #df18. If you are on Instagram check out Dreamforce and Silverline for posts and behind the scenes stories.

Live Chat

Finally, the last way I think you can skip FOMO is by talking to those who are there! Schedule time post Dreamforce with friends and colleagues who attended the event to hear the highlights first-hand. Ask them what they did, what business and personal value they got out of going, and what ideas they have for the things they learned.

I hope this post helps the rest of us who aren’t able to attend feel better about not being there. In my case, I’m home on maternity leave with my new two-week-old baby, so I don’t have too much time to think about it. If you want to hear more about Silverline’s thoughts on #DF18, subscribe to the blog as the team will be sharing recaps in the weeks following Dreamforce.
