Today, we’re excited to bring to you a guest post from our favorite VIP at Dreamforce, #LegoMarc. This was his first Dreamforce, and he asked if he could share some of his favorite memories with you, so who are we to deny him that opportunity? Take it away, #LegoMarc.
I couldn’t wait for my first Dreamforce. For months leading up to the event, it’s all I could think about. I knew there was a lot to do to prepare, but I don’t think I could have ever anticipated how much fun I would have. Many thanks to my friends at Silverline for inviting me along and for making me feel so at home with the podium they built for me.
The last few weeks have been hard coming down from the Dreamforce high, but I met so many awesome people who do so many innovative and inspirational things in California. I got to meet new friends, hang ten with the Beach Boys, and I’m pretty sure that Bruno Mars was singing just for me at the gala. Bruno, I think I wanna marry you too, but you’ll have to teach me all your sweet moves first. Just so you know – my arm joints only move in one direction, so you have your work cut out.
One of my favorite things about Dreamforce was definitely the great community of people. It was so cool to make new friends that love all the same things I love. SaaSy and Chatty were the best, and the guys at the Wave campground in Moscone West were great, too; they helped me get more festive with a Hawaiian lei! And a shout out to Desk.com’s new fishy mascot, who was hilarious. Be careful with his barbs!
It was really fun to go around the conference on the first day with my entourage from Silverline, Nicole and Gabby. They introduced me to their friends at Informatica and we checked out tons of booths so we could say hello to our other partners. Everyone *pretended* to be interested in me, but I’m pretty sure they were just excited to see these lovely ladies. They rock.
I also got a chance to do so much fun stuff at Dreamforce. The DJs in Moscone let me spin some old school hip hop, and I took the opportunity to dress up in my best superhero gear. Did you check out the Dreamforce bookstore? I was psyched to see that they were carrying books from some of my favorite authors and big thinkers. Of course I had to take a selfie with a book of my own.
And did you know there was an actual Lego contest at Dreamforce?! THESE ARE MY PEOPLE! It was so cool to meet @DarthGarry while he was building a masterpiece. Have you seen his amazing Lego videos before? He’s a master! I bow down, Garry.
And finally – I couldn’t resist getting my surf on at the Salesforce Wave campground. Did you see the new analytics platform? It’s amazing. I can’t wait to do it all again next year. Thanks so much for the invite, Silverline friends!
