QBS, short for Quality Behavioral Solutions, trains organizations that support individuals who may exhibit behavioral challenges. Through Safety-Care, QBS provides evidence-based incident prevention and management training to help staff provide humane, person-centered interventions that replace challenging behavior with safer and more collaborative behavior. Their training improves safety for staff and the individuals they support while reducing the frequency and severity of dangerous incidents.
A calendar tool to visualize class schedules
QBS needed a way to manage all of their training classes across North America. The trainers needed to know where they were going to be next month. The sales team trying to fill the classes needed to know which classes were scheduled for the next three months. And the business ops team was planning out where those classes are potentially going to be a year in advance.
QBS was using the out-of-box Salesforce classic calendar to manage all of this information with a couple different views. That included using Chatter to let somebody know when it was time to book a class, which was time-consuming and offered no visual aid. QBS was introduced to CalendarAnything by a partner working on their Salesforce build, and immediately saw the value in its data visualization capabilities.
“I don’t think there’s a single company that uses Salesforce that only uses accounts, contacts, opportunities. Everyone has custom objects,” said Andy Manson, Director of Technology at QBS. “Custom objects, custom dates, custom planning, none of those things can be handled by Salesforce out of box. The Salesforce calendar might be great for a single salesperson that is using account, contacts, and opportunities, but as soon as you go beyond that, you need CalendarAnything functionality to start putting your organization’s data on a screen.”
Accelerating decision-making with CalendarAnything
With CalendarAnything, QBS gains a complete view of their class schedule that is simple to navigate and understand. QBS team members can make decisions at a glance thanks to the color-coding of classes to indicate their status. A potential class in three months has one color, and then it is changed to a different color when registration is able to begin, letting trainers know that the class is confirmed and they should plan their travel. All of this happens in one calendar view.
The CalendarAnything Lightning Web Component can be embedded anywhere in Salesforce, which helps QBS drive user adoption by giving teams the information they need, directly where they can access it most easily. “For our master trainers, CalendarAnything is their home page,” said Munson. “They sign into Salesforce to look at CalendarAnything. That’s where they live and that’s how they interact with the headquarters office.”
