As the first global office in our company, Silverline India (SLI) has been instrumental in helping us make our mark on the international Salesforce ecosystem. The Bangalore office has grown from 30 employees to over 150 in the past four years, and we recently celebrated Silverline India’s anniversary as part of our ongoing Silverline World Tour.
It was the first time the entire Silverline India team gathered together in two years, and members of our U.S. team traveled to Bangalore to join the festivities.
“SLI has been a critical part of Silverline’s successful growth over our history and I was honored to be there in person for SLI’s 4th anniversary,” said Eric Nelson, Managing Director, Technology and Specialty. “Many new team members have joined remotely over the last two years and I loved having the chance to meet them face-to-face for the first time. The excitement of being together combined with the enthusiasm for the opportunity ahead of us created an incredible vibe amongst the team.”
A key element of the Silverline World Tour is bringing employees together to serve their local communities. At our Bangalore event, Silverliners packed school kits of backpacks and supplies for Astha Shakti, an organization that works with underprivileged children to provide opportunities for education, skill development, economic rehabilitation, and social integration.
“As a part of our Silverline Cares program, we wanted to empower the underprivileged and the economically disadvantaged by providing opportunities for education and skill development,” said Gangadhar Hegde, General Manager, SLI. “These basic school kits will help children for the entire school year, and we were proud to work with Astha Shakti, an NGO that has been driving this core objective of serving children across India.”
In addition to the anniversary celebration, the World Tour also included the grand finale of the Silverline India Hackathon, a month-long challenge in which 49 different team members developed ideas that could help optimize the Salesforce platform. Judges were looking for ideas that clearly define problems, offer solutions that respond to them, and deliver direct value to our clients.
Six ideas were shortlisted from the 45 ideas submitted, and those six were then evaluated on presentation, applicability, flexibility, completion, and creativity. Each submission demonstrated impressive innovation and the ability to drive client success.
The winning team developed a solution to favorite record details captured in Salesforce and provide an option to autofill field values. The runner-up solution automates deployment manifests, and other short-listed solutions included automatic test class generation, an indicate-happiness index for records, a tool to automate estimation, and using action plan templates to assign 30/60/90 tasks for the new hires. Judges Jeff Radtke, Eric Nelson, Mani Manikandan and Gangadhar Hegde awarded winners and runners up trophies, certificates, and prizes.
“The Silverline India Hackathon event inculcated the innovative culture of Silverline India’s associates, offering new thoughts to solve problems, and building a network among teams,” said Sreedhar Nadadur, Director, Managed Services. “The judges thought that the ideas were great and the feedback from associates was overwhelming for the whole event. We had good, healthy competition and the Silverline India team is already anticipating the 2023 Hackathon!”
The Hackathon spotlighted how Silverline India is empowering our organization to deliver cutting-edge Salesforce solutions to our clients around the world. We’ve accomplished great things in these past four years, and can’t wait to see what the next four bring! Keep up with the latest Silverline India updates by following us on LinkedIn.
