We are proud to celebrate the accomplishment of Silverline Senior Director Nicole McGuire, who recently became a Vlocity SME.

“Nicole’s knowledge of Vlocity’s toolset and real world project experience has been critical to our clients’ success,” said Mike Piehl, VP of Vlocity GTM for Silverline. “I’m thrilled that Salesforce is leveraging her many talents in rebuilding the certification exams as it will result in additional client success across the ecosystem!”

Mastering Vlocity

So just how did Nicole get involved in Vlocity?

I graduated from the University of West Florida, where I received my bachelor’s degree in computer science, started working in Microsoft product space ((C#, VB.NET, (http://VB.NET), ASP.net (http://ASP.net), SQL) for almost 10 years. After a decade doing that, I switched over to another company, and in their innovation area, we started using Salesforce,” Nicole said.

“It’s hard to believe it’s been 10 years since I joined the Salesforce ecosystem —  but I haven’t looked back. About five years ago I joined IBM Bluewolf, where I started working with a client on Vlocity. I loved wrapping my head around that tech and got immersed within the Vlocity group through dev conferences and meetups.”

With all that experience, we’re happy to have her at Silverline.

Getting certified

After becoming Vlocity certified — Implementation, and Communications & Platform Developer — Nicole worked all the way up to the Vlocity Masters Program.

She is also 9x Salesforce certified: Application Architect, Integration Architect Designer, Development Lifecycle and Deployment Designer, Sharing & Visibility Designer, Data Architecture and Management Designer, Platform Developer I, Platform App Builder, Administrator, and Community Cloud Consultant.

Becoming a Vlocity SME

Toward the end of 2020, Vlocity put out a call for applications to help with design out the new, forthcoming certifications. As Salesforce acquired Vlocity, we got a seat at the table. According to the call for applications,  it was time to “validate the integrity of our existing credentials by taking them through the Salesforce exam development process.” To do that, they needed subject matter experts to participate in the process and to help define how Vlocity credentials become Salesforce credentials.

“I raised my hand (applied) and they chose me,” Nicole said. “It always helps to raise your hand. I’m excited to learn more about the credentialing development process and the data behind exams. And it’s great to network with and be a part of another group of Vlocity experts.”

Looking to learn from and work with experts like Nicole? We’re hiring!
