NEW YORK, NYFebruary 4, 2021—Silverline, a Salesforce digital transformation consultancy headquartered in New York City, today announced that Mike Piehl has joined the Financial Services practice as Vice President, Insurance. Concurrently, Paul Peterson will take on the role of Sub-Vertical Leader, Payer for Silverline’s Healthcare and Life Sciences practice.

As a part of Silverline’s Financial Services practice, Piehl will leverage his extensive ecosystem experience, which features a decade in the insurance industry and another decade providing Salesforce-centric consulting services. Most recently, Mike’s efforts led to the successful launch of Silverline’s leading Vlocity practice, including clients in the US and Europe.

In this new role, Piehl will partner with insurance companies to identify new ways to leverage technology solutions that drive transformation, growth, and measurable ROI.

“I spent the bulk of my early career gaining insight into all manners of what an insurance carrier does. Over time, I gained experience in all critical roles and responsibilities needed within the technology organization of a carrier,” said Pieh. “I’m most excited about the ability to focus on and provide a more complete response to an organization’s needs. In this role, I can ensure clients receive recommendations inclusive of the entire client journey and across the enterprise application portfolio, resulting in better client outcomes.”

Piehl’s unique experience allows him to understand Silverline’s client needs across the front, middle, and back office leveraging both Salesforce and hybrid Salesforce approaches to solve clients’ most strategic problems.

“Insurance companies of today aren’t just competing with their peers, but with a myriad of fintechs and start-ups looking to disrupt the market. To remain competitive, the insurance industry needs to revitalize its customer experience and enable users to engage via the channels and times they prefer,” said Geoff Merrick, SVP and GM of Financial Services at Silverline. “We’re thrilled to have someone with Mike’s background lead the Insurance practice. His real-world experience in all aspects of the industry will expand the reach of our team of technical experts and thought leaders.”

As Piehl transitions to his new role, Peterson will focus on Payer needs and Vlocity-related solutions.

Peterson joined Silverline in 2019, bringing with him over 35 years of experience providing strategy, operations, and IT consulting services to clients in the healthcare and financial services industries. Further, he previously held roles leading Payer practices at a Big Four and other boutique consulting firms.

As a result of close to 100 successful technology and CRM engagements for healthcare and insurance companies, Peterson has integrated marketing, sales, and service functions; replaced manual processes for operational teams; and unified disparate legacy systems with Salesforce to provide customer intelligence to the patient engagement teams.

“I look forward to enabling exceptional member experiences, powered by state-of-the-art technology, said Peterson. “By focusing on Payer needs and Vlocity-based solutions, I look forward to using these technologies combined with our world-class consulting team to ensure that client solutions are truly tailored to improve the health of members, increase the efficiencies of all the operational areas of payers, and enhance every member experience with the payer.”

“Payers are undergoing continuous transformation as long-term consumer preferences and business needs have converged,” said Matt Gretczko, SVP and GM of Healthcare and Life Sciences at Silverline. “With this change, and resulting shifts in value drivers, there is an opportunity for payers to rethink their technology approach to drive more agility, engagement, and utilization of insight driven data. Paul’s breadth of experience, depth of knowledge, and history of customer success, coupled with the product capabilities of the Salesforce platform and its track record, provide us with the ability to lead customers through their digital journey.”
