Founded in 2007, Brundage Group is dedicated to enhancing clinical accuracy, regulatory compliance, and financial health for hospitals and healthcare systems nationwide, so they can focus on providing exceptional care to their patients and communities.
The need for a flexible, scalable scheduling solution
Brundage Group had multiple business requests around physician staff scheduling and the need for a calendar for large-scale appointment scheduling. This work was previously done via Salesforce reporting with basic Salesforce custom objects, but as the organization grew, this process did not provide the appropriate visibility and resulted in scheduling challenges and rework. They needed an option that was scalable.
Brundage Group found CalendarAnything through the Salesforce AppExchange and was attracted to the solution’s flexible and customizable capabilities for scheduling, visibility, and user/role access levels. They worked with CalendarAnything support to help build and design the solution over eight weeks. “CalendarAnything met our needs and deadlines, putting in extra time to complete the effort as the deadline approached,” said Aaron O’Brien, Senior VP IT & Product Development at Brundage Group.
Eliminating limitations with CalendarAnything
Brundage Group’s main use case is around visualizing physician availability and shifts assigned to the physicians that support their clients in case reviews. The shifts are built based on expected volumes — they manage about 300 cases a day — and now they are able to identify the physicians that are on-call, see what shifts a physician has picked up, and which shifts are still open to assign cases accordingly. Shifts are created dynamically so that physicians can claim them.
“Our Operational team has insight into team member workload and can now schedule and manage months out, improving productivity and quality of our scheduling department,” said O’Brien. “There are no limitations in our ability to measure availability.”
For the next phase of their CalendarAnything journey, Brundage Group plans to expand the number of users and externalize calendars to their Salesforce Experience site users. With CalendarAnything, they can continue to scale and optimize the appointment scheduling process.
