On Friday, September 27th, 2019, Victor Felisbino and I hosted the first ever Oklahoma City MuleSoft Meetup. The meeting took place at a Love’s Travel Stop corporate office, where Victor serves as a Sr. Salesforce Developer. There was no set agenda for the first meeting. The casual get together ove a lunch of Chick-fil-a let us identify our user base in Oklahoma and determine what topics we all wanted to cover in future meetings.
With over 25 attendees, we began our meetup with introductions: names, where they worked, and what they hoped to gain from future meetups. We had a variety of users ranging from never using the platform all the way to a MuleSoft Training Instructor. I shared with the group past meetups I attended to give them ideas of topics we could cover in the future, and we heard from others what they hoped to gain from these meetups.
After our initial discussion, Victor and I gave an overview of the training and certifications program, and discussed how everyone would receive a voucher for a certification exam by attending the event (!). Overall, it was definitely a great start to our new chapter and I am very excited with the turnout and the planned future meetups. Be on the lookout for the next meeting later this year.
The meetup group gets together once per quarter and the organizers actively solicit feedback. If you are interested in getting involved with the MuleSoft user group or want to recommend topics for this series or other future meetings, reach out Derek Bransford or Victor Felisbino.
