Improvements
Availability Scheduling Fixed Grid Option
Availability calendar timeslots are based on configured time periods such as 15 minutes, 30 minutes, and so on. An appointment is booked by selecting a timeslot. If that appointment is subsequently updated with start and end times outside of the configured timeslots, the application, by default, adjusts all subsequent time slots accordingly. The new Fixed Grid checkbox provides an alternative to this default behavior.
Example
The Availability calendar’s timeslots are set at half hour intervals: 9:00 am – 9:30 am, 9:30 am – 10:00 am, 10:00 am – 10:30 am, and so on. The 10:00 am timeslot is selected to create an appointment. Later, that appointment is updated to start at 10:10 am and end at 10:40 am.The application, using default behavior, adjusts the booked user’s subsequent time slots to reflect the update. The slots after the booked slot become 10:40 am – 11:10 am, 11:10 am – 11:40 am, and so on.
With Fixed Grid enabled, the application handles this same scenario differently. The portion of the booked timeslot that extends into the next timeslot renders that timeslot also unavailable. All subsequent timeslots remain the same. In this scenario, the next available timeslot becomes 11:00 am to 11:30 am.
Key Updates
- Added Fixed Grid option.
- Updated post booking timeslot changes to maintain the calendar’s existing timeslots as much as possible when the Fixed Grid option is enabled.
Benefits
- Provides flexibility in how to set time slots subsequent to a non-configured start and end time appointment.
Nested Child Relation Fields
You can now configure Child Relation Fields that reference Child Relation Fields from another object.
Example
A technical support team manager wants to be able to view on the Case Details popup all events related to the case. The manager accomplishes this by taking the following steps:
- Creates Child Relation Fields from Case to Event objects.
- Creates Child Relation Fields from Event to Event Relation objects.
- Adds Case ID field to the Event Create and Edit popup.
Now the manager can pull up the Details popup for a Case record and view all Events and Related Events that pertain to the Case.
Key Updates
- The popup to create Child Relation Fields now allows you to reference other Child Relation Fields.
Benefits
- Enables you to see in one place Child Relation Fields configured for another object.
New Capacity Functionality in Availability Calendars
New functionality has been added for managing Capacity in Availability calendars. This functionality works with the existing Maximum Capacity field that allows you to specify the maximum number of times you can book a resource at a given timeslot.
Example
A travel agent needs automated management of small-group bookings of optional train tours, ensuring the 20-person maximum for any given train tour period is not exceeded.
The agent sets Maximum Capacity to 20 on his Train Tour Availability calendar for each combination of time period and train destination. He shares this calendar with each new set of tourists, explaining that they can book any timeslot/destination they see, and that the timeslot disappears when the maximum capacity has been reached.
Key Updates
- Availability Scheduling has been enhanced so that you can use a custom numeric field on the Create and Edit popup to specify the number of bookings being made for the selected resource and timeslot. Each timeslot remains on the calendar until Maximum Capacity is met.
Benefits
- Provides the Availability owner control over how many bookings can be made for any given timeslot..
- Manages appointment booking when Maximum Capacity is greater than 1.
Availability Hourly Updates
Implement scheduling engine support for two week, monthly week, and day of month availability calendar.
- 2 weeks – identify the week of the year, based on settings, and apply it to the rules.
- Week of the month – use CalendarAnything setting for checking the first day of the week.
Benefits:
- Identifies week and month of the year.
Bug Fixes

fields. - CA LWC: The colors in the Excel file are incorrect for the Dynamic Conditional Coloring.
