New Features

Kanban View (Beta)

We are excited to introduce the latest enhancement to our application — a highly customizable Kanban View. This new view provides greater flexibility in data visualization and management, offering a more intuitive way to organize and track your tasks or projects.

Key Features:

1. Horizontal and Vertical Grouping:
   • The Kanban view allows data to be grouped both horizontally and vertically, giving you more options to categorize and structure” your workflow.
   • Choose between a simple horizontal grouping for a traditional Kanban setup or combine it with vertical groupings for a more detailed view of your data.
2. Data Periods Integration:
   • You can now join data into periods, enabling the organization of tasks or records by time frames, such as weeks, months, or custom-defined periods.
   • This feature is perfect for tracking work over time or planning sprints and milestones.
3. Dynamic Cells with Grouped Data:
   • Each cell in the Kanban view now displays relevant data for the selected horizontal and/or vertical groupings and includes data specific to the defined period.
   • This provides a clear snapshot of progress, helping users to quickly assess their workload or project status.
4. Drag-and-Drop Functionality:
   • The new Kanban view, like all CalendarAnything views, supports drag-and-drop capabilities, allowing users to easily move items between rows (horizontal groups) and columns (vertical groups).
   • Quickly reassign tasks by dragging them across different categories, statuses, or periods without the need for manual updates.
   • This feature streamlines task management and provides a smooth, dynamic user experience.
5. Flexible Configuration Panel:
   • The grouping and period settings are now managed from a separate configuration panel, giving you full control over how your data is organized and displayed.
   • Easily adjust groupings or periods to fit your project needs without cluttering your main workspace.

This new Kanban view is designed to offer enhanced clarity and flexibility, helping teams to better visualize and manage their tasks using CalendarAnything. We hope this new view improves your productivity and project management experience!

Display Setting Enhancement – “Hide Empty Groupings”

A new setting called “Hide Empty Groupings” has been added to General Settings > Swimlane View, allowing you to hide empty grouping rows or columns when there is no data available for a specific grouping. By default, this setting is set to false (off), ensuring that all grouping structures are displayed unless manually adjusted.The Hide Empty Groupings enhancement offers greater control over how your data is displayed within various views.

Key Features:

1. Applicable Across Multiple Views:
   • This option is available for all grouping modes, except for field groupings.
   • It works seamlessly across various views, including:
     • Kanban View
     • Day Grouping View
     • Swimlane View
2. QuickSetting Accessibility:
   • The “Hide Empty Groupings” option is now easily accessible through the QuickSetting panel, allowing you to toggle the setting on or off with just a few clicks.
   • This quick access feature provides an efficient way to modify your display settings on the go.
3. Efficient Data Grid Refresh:
   • When this setting is toggled, the data grid is refreshed without reloading the data, ensuring that the interface updates swiftly without any delay, maintaining a smooth user experience.

The Hide Empty Groupings setting gives users more flexibility in customizing their views by allowing the removal of unnecessary, empty grouping sections, thus providing a cleaner, more focused display of relevant data.

Calendar Setup – Description

The Calendar Description field in the calendar setup is extended to 1000 characters.

Custom Grouping – Include unassigned records

Custom Grouping Settings now include a new option — “Add Empty Group” — that users can select to display unassigned records.

In the Swimlane view, in this example, it will create an additional row with records that don’t have a resource assigned to a task and therefore indicate that a task needs to be assigned using drag and drop.

Improvements

• Additional fields with field type Long Text Area are being wrapped instead of clipped. To enable this option, go to General Settings -> Advanced and select Multiline Additional Fields Text option.

Bug Fixes

• Unable to edit calendars that have been shared using Salesforce manual sharing.
