A Day In The Life: Rachel Brean

By 03.19.21 Rachel Brean
Reading time: 3 minutes

Job Title:  Account Executive
Start Date:  July, 2019

What does your average day look like?

Jumping from one Zoom video meeting to the next! My day is usually a mix of meetings between current clients and potential new clients, Silverliners, and Salesforce. I spend a lot of time building presentations to share how Silverline partners with our clients to help them. Also, we use Salesforce end to end at Silverline so I spend time as an end user keeping our Salesforce org up to date with my opportunities!

How did you find out about Silverline and your current position?

I have been in the Salesforce ecosystem for a while so knew that Silverline had a great reputation in the market. I got lunch in NYC one day with Geoff Merrick, our VP of Financial Services, and he spoke to me about all of the great reasons he recently joined Silverline. I also met with my current manager, Angie Lingk, and was really impressed by all of the sales processes she was working on, and her plans for growing and scaling the team.

What motivates you at work?

Other Silverliners! Everyone here is really hard-working, fun, and they genuinely care about the well being and success of others. Most colleagues balance working with our clients, taking care of their families, and giving back through our Silverline Cares programs such as Trillion Trees, Project Sunshine, or BUILT BY GIRLS. We have an internal slack channel for the 20+ mentors that participate in BUILT BY GIRLS and it’s really fun to hear about the groups’ mentees. We’re always blown away by how impressive they are and what initiatives they are doing at the collegiate level.

What are some interesting challenges you face?

There is always so much to learn! Part of my role is staying up to date on the challenges my clients are facing, and these are always changing in finance and tech (regulations, PPP, etc). The great thing is our team has bi-weekly enablement meetings where we can discuss and stay up to date on these trends.

What new things have you learned since you began working at Silverline?

I’ve learned a lot about the banking industry and the importance of the digital bank, it’s been fascinating to see how quickly some of our clients have been able to pivot during COVID to best support their customers. Silverline also has a phenomenal MuleSoft practice, and being able to learn how MuleSoft can eliminate any systems bottlenecks through integrations has been so helpful!

What do you think makes Silverline successful?

Hands down our industry expertise. My background for the past 13 years has been in consulting, but being able to partner with our Practice Directors who have been on the client side makes us the dream team. Also our leadership team, including co-founders Gireesh and Rich, are always willing to roll up their sleeves and help. While I can’t pop into their offices anymore since COVID, they have kept the open door policy virtually. I can reach out with a quick slack. The leadership team has remained very transparent, especially with COVID, making sure we all stay connected with monthly office hours and company updates.

What is your favorite perk?

Flexibility! Even pre-COVID, Silverline was built from the ground up with “work from anywhere” systems and support. Especially this past year, I’ve appreciated the ability to step out of my home office for a mid-day coffee or walk and work whatever hours are best for my schedule.

What is your favorite memory from working at Silverline?

Our 2020 Sales kick-off took place in Atlanta, and it was so great to meet colleagues from all over the country face to face and have in person workshops. It was one of the last in person events Silverline was able to have before the shut down in March. I look forward to us being able to be together again in person!

What do you hope for your future at Silverline?

Silverline has always been committed to growing a diverse, inclusive, and belonging employee population. My hope is that it continues to grow and bring new diverse employees together to build a more connected, innovative, and inclusive company.
